Whoa! Slow down, my friend. Can we have a quick chat first? l know you don’t have the time. But, please make that time and come along with me for a few minutes. Trust me this one article could make you look at your challenges with stress in a new light.

First of all, you say you are suffering from stress and anxiety. Why and how come? What is the reason behind all of that pain? Secondly, did you know that stress is the cause and anxiety is the result? Thirdly, are you a qualified physician who comprehends what is physiologically and psychologically out of remainder in you? Fourthly, do you know what type of medication you need? I’m not asking in regards to brand names – they are made easy and attentiongetting by the makers just to make your life “easier”. I personally find it difficult to even pronounce a great deal of of the key ingredients – benzodiazepines, azapirones, antihistamines, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, monamine oxidase inhibitors and the list goes on. Do you know what these are and what they do? Fifthly, do you recognise what side effects these drugs could cause? No, don’t look at the label on the packaging of the medication. Sixthly (now this is getting weird), do you know how long you need to take them and how frequently? Again, don’t look at the label. You know what, look at the label and read it all. Do you see that disclaimer on the label? It says, “consult your physician”, doesn’t it? Well, that’s for a purpose. In addition to covering themselves from litigation, the drug manufacturer is genuinely giving you the right counsel that regrettably we tend to plainly ignore.

Medications are not candy

Medication for stress and anxiety relief must not be confused with candy or vitamins or even the latest panacea for mutual cold (what is it by the way?) Such medication is severe business and it requires a careful considerateness of your situation, a indepth evaluation of your physiological and psychological health, due diligence on your allergies and side effects of the ingredients on you, before a decision may be made on what medication you may use and what the dosage must be.

While such medication may be received for the most part through prescriptions in the United States , countries of the European Union and Down Under, a good deal of countries do not have such regulatory controls. If you are living in such countries, I implore you to protest the urge to plainly walk up to the drugstore and empty your cash bag on medications for stress and anxiety relief. Go to a qualified healthcare professional and seek help.

Medication for stress relief – does not exist. I may repeat that as a lot of times as anybody wants me to. It is like medication for the mutual cold. The confusedness comes as a result of improper education on stress management. We are subjected to stress for as long as we live. Situations in life, our experiences with objects, people and events cause stress. When we cannot physiologically or psychologically deal with the circumstance using our inherent faculties we get subjected to stress. It is humane nature to be in control of everything, have an answer to each question, a solution to each problem – to be always in charge. When we can not fulfill this basic intuition we manufacture stress on ourselves.

What Exactly is Stress?

The value of your home is dropping like a stone for the last year with no signs of a turnaround. Surely that is a problem, but rather frankly is it something you may control? There’s not one thing wrong with your property, but rather the market conditions that is causing the drop. What may you do in regards to it? This could subject you to stress. A family fellow member is ill and had to be hospitalized. Well, you cannot control the person’s health, may you? You can’t even control yours in a great deal of cases. This could cause stress. What I am attempting to get at is when we feel helpless, when we can not find that answer to the question or that solution to the problem, we get subjected to stress.

Medications cannot eliminate your stress

Now tell me, what medication may take care of such circumstances? Ask your doctor, scour the Internet, spend a week in the local library you will not find anything that talks in regards to medication for stress relief. Stress is a condition of the mind, which spreads into your anatomy over time. There is no medication – prescription or over the counter for stress.

Confused? Well, the medication that you are genuinely looking for are for the sensations or changes of stress -these are anxiety, depression, phobias, panic attacks and their derivatives and concoctions. These are physiological and psychological manifestations of stress – something that you may control. So the medications available are to remedy these sensations or changes of stress not the cause.

Address the root cause and you’ll eliminate the sensations or changes of stress

Now read this division very conservatively to get a exhaustive understanding . What happens to that weed in your garden when you just snap it off from the trunk that is visible above the ground? After a few days, it grows right back. Do this a few times, and it keeps growing back. Why do you think that is? Well, that’s because you are only addressing the symptom which is the ugly percentage of the weed that is visible above the ground. The root beneath the ground is hale and hearty and well protected and it proceeds to grow deeper and stronger. You are not attempting to stop the proliferation of the root, so it keeps coming back again and again.

What happens if you took the time and crusade to dig the weed out of the ground from the root itself? It might take numerous effort, depending on how long and disseminate out the root has become, to dig it all out. But when you remove the weed from the root, the same weed can not grow in that same spot in your garden, right? So you eradicated the root cause and thereby remedied the symptom.

It’s awful how simple things in life may give rise to such a huge affect on us. Draw the example from the simple weed and compare it to your problem. Your medications will take care of the sensations or changes of stress such as anxiety, depression, phobias and panic attacks, but they won’t address the root cause of stress. The mystery to a true and long lasting solution to stress management lies in your mind and not in medications that you may buy as a prescription drug or over the counter.

5soothing…..now I just need to listen to this on a loop…..
By Colleen M. Schneider
Frankly, I wish Dr. Hanson, could just follow me to work one day and as I get into melt-down mode he could just talk to me in that soothing voice and snap my brain back into a logical mode again. Short of this, (since he is a PHD, he is probably super busy and doesn’t have time), listening to one of the 7 meditations on this cd set (2 cd’s running a total time of 2.5 hours). This cd is best used when you are someplace quiet and you can either sit with your eyes closed, or lay on the floor in a comfortable resting position. I used these meditations after my daily exercise and it really calmed my mind and centered me. My plan is to keep this set in my car (not for driving, by the way), and when I start to run a little ragged or find myself not in what I call my “happy place”, I can go to my car at lunch and practice one of the meditations.

4A Nice CD To Help You Get a New Perspective on Stress
By David Bennett
I have been reading a lot lately about the power of the brain, particularly the ability of the brain to rewire, which is called neuroplasticity. The brain is amazingly powerful, and mindfulness (i.e. a kind of relaxed focus) can cause our brains to rewire in a positive way. The Mind and the Brain: Neuroplasticity and the Power of Mental Force is an excellent book on the topic for those who want to know a little more. In other words, look around at those people that go through the same problems the rest of the world does, but who remain happy, calm, and detached. Compare this to the reaction many people have to life’s setbacks: anger, stress, and dejection. Hanson argues that stress is not external (caused by stimuli), but really internal (caused by our brain’s response to the stimuli).

4Useful information and meditations on stress
By Gwendolyn Dawson
This two-CD set is a concise program to help reduce the effects of stress. For me, the best part about this program was the introductory material. Dr. Hanson explains the human stress response–where it comes from, how it is triggered, what are its consequences, and what we can do about it. Dr. Hanson’s explanation is clear and not too scientific or overloaded with jargon. Now that I am better able to recognize my body’s stress response, I feel I am better able to control it.

The meditation tracks encourage the user to reflect on causes of stress and to adopt healthier responses to stress (such as becoming more grateful). Dr. Hanson’s voice is soothing and not at all irritating, which is a requirement for good meditations. I found the mediation tracks to be similar to other meditations I’ve done before. They are helpful but not unique.
