What is the limit of humane potential? What may we become? Into what may we grow from our unexploited talents, our unexplored potentials?

Potentials are of two varieties; genetic and social.

Genetic potential is the one we are born with and is derived from the genes of our parents. It dictates our height, weight, colour of eyes and hair and probable diseases we will contract or resistence to diseases, intellectual capacity, etc.

Social potential is that which we derive as the result of our birth into a society with cultural strictures or opportunities. The education of the society into which we are born, our capacity to access that education, the mode of living and the normal work the society is involved in, the faith scheme of the society, and wealth or poverty of our social group, all affect our probabilities to reach our potential.

But these constraints, whether genetic or social, may likewise become stepping stones to success. For example, Helen Keller suffered an impairment of normal physiological function which, at the age of two, left her blind, deaf, and mute. This adversity propelled her into fame as a world widely known and esteemed exemplar of instructional methods for the blind.

Adversities may become blessings that help us in re-thinking our activenesses and modifying our goals. Charles Kettering, the famous American engineer, broke his hand while cranking an automobile and consequently developed the self-starter. He had a sign in his laboratory, “Do not fetch me your successes, they weaken me. Bring me your problems, they beef up me.”

Edison, who patented 1100 inventions, claimed that his deafness helped him in that he could listen the deafening ticking of the telegraph ticker amongst other chattering by people. This deafness led him to the unexplored field of sound and it is transmission.

Beethoven was deaf when he composed his Ninth symphony. Darwin, Disraeli, Carlyle, Dickens, Emerson and John Burroughs became famous in spite of their handicaps.

Queen Elizabeth I suffered from stomach disorders, ulcers, dropsy, fits, rheumatism. Yet she ruled well, became the most widely known and esteemed sovereign in English History, and gave her name to an age.

What is the limit of humane potential? There is none. Why? Because the substance of the Creator has no potential-limit and the soul of man is an atom of the Creator’s energy. How may we prove this?

It is axiomatic that in the beginning only the Creator existed. He existed as energy. He converted a minuscule percentage of his energy to matter and invented the universe. We recognise that he did not convert all his energy into matter. If He did, there would be only matter.

The soul of man is energy and not matter. That means that the Creator employed his unconverted energy to fabricate the soul of man. That is why the soul of man has unlimited potential .

We limit ourselves by our own belief. Belief is a very powerful instrument in achieving results. If we believe that we will not succeed, we will not undertake and our potential is wasted. Thus, we set the limits of our achievements. We may likewise break the limits of our accomplishments by faith and action.

In conclusion, there is no limit for humane potential. We were invented to be companions for the Creator and companionship demands brotherhood, and sharing of all potential. We recognise that there is no limit to the potentials of the almighty Creator. That means, humane beings will be endowed with all the potentials of the Creator.

However, we cannot acquire all the potentials of the Creator until we are capable of handling all divine potentials. Just like we will not be competent to instruct infinitesimal calculus to a third grader, we will not be capable to handle the divine potentials until we have become strong, wise and knowledgeable. The way psychological result of perception learning and reasoning is doubling and redoubling in shorter and shorter intervals, the day is not far away when we will have all the potentials the Creator- God has.

4A gentler side of Beethoven.
By JanetK
For the most part, this is a very nice CD. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because a couple of pieces had poor recording quality. I could hear background noise. Perhaps they were live recordings. Still, a nice CD overall. I like this softer more gentle side of Beethoven. Very beautiful and enjoyable.
